I think Daylight Savings Time is silly. It has been proven over and over that no electricity is saved with the move and that, we were told, was the reason that the government instituted the plan. Just silly. Dark in the morning or dark in the evening - every day is going to have the same number of dark hours and light hours whether the day is controlled by standard or daylight time. Just silly.

I teach a course in sociology at a local community college in the Montreal area. As part of the course, I show the class the film " A Life Apart" in order to illustrate what a closely knit community looks like. I have given some thought to inviting someone from the Montreal orthodox community to speak to my class. Given that there are often misunderstandings between the Hasidic community and non-jews, I thought that this would be a good opportunity break down some steroetypes and educate the public. I would like your response to this idea.
