November 1st Reader's Digest Contest Update
November 1st is here. Holy Toledo! It certainly took the
scenic route and stopped at all the historic markers along the way, as we
slugged it out sweating and bruised, simultaneously beating back new contest
entries while diligently perched on the "vote now" button ensuring not a second
would be lost in gaining on BECKY. (Did ya' see that? I made a whole
paragraph one sentence. Hope you didn't turn blue trying to read it all without
taking a breath.)
So, all that is left of our turf war is two weeks of furious
voting. The contest ends November 15th and I promise you, some contenders are
signing up voters outside the grocery store in exchange for a $1.00 off coupon
on Hostess Ding Dongs.
Rick, who is riding the Kentucky Derby winner, galloped
up yesterday and took over #15 from Gina. Remember when Gina coulda' been
someone? So, Rick is at 1636 votes, and we are at 1868 votes which seems
comfortable enough. But our horse, the winner at the county fair, is getting
tired and ornery. Our horse has been pulling our covered wagon for a couple
months now whereas Rick's horse is still feeling his oats. Heh heh.
So,, we have 1868 votes, a pick up of 41 votes in the last 24
hours. We are so much better than that. Today is our day. Today we knock them
all out ot the park. Let's show them who we are in the last two weeks. And,
BECKY, she's at 2048 votes, 180 votes ahead of us just like yesterday.
