Bobby Velline grew up and started his band in a city (small city) 40 miles away from my hometown.  He was in Fargo, ND, and I was in Detroit Lakes, MN. He married Karen Bergen, a local Detroit Lakes girl, very young and... they are still married and still living in Detroit Lakes on the lake.  I never knew either one of them but boy, howdy, I loved Bobby Vee's music and I can still dance the night away to it.
