Professional Resumes
If you have followed this blog since the beginning of its existence you know that I have had many different careers. Two of my careers prepare me for today's topic; the writing of a professional resume.

For nineteen or so years, I was in human resources in a variety of capacities ending up in the top HR position for a company employing about 3000 people. During those years I grew bleary-eyed perusing resumes by the score for every position from janitor to CEO. I recognized early on the value of a resume. A well written resume moves you forward into the interview process. A poorly written resume sends you straight into the shredder. It is simple. Hiring authorities are very busy people who are rated on the speed with which they fill a job opening with a qualified candidate. They simply can't afford to deliberate over resumes searching for the qualifications they are looking for. If the qualifications don't pop out immediately the resume hits the rubbish pile. Couple their limited time factor with today's competition for every open job and resumes are worth their weight in gold.
After leaving corporate human resources I went into the executive search (headhunting) business eventually becoming the owner of my own firm. My daily bread depended on finding well qualified candidates and presenting those candidates in the most advantageous ways. It was here that I perfected my resume writing skills and techniques. Every resume needed all the basics and then, for effect, that resume needed to set itself apart from the next guy.
With that knowledge and experience in my back pocket, I offer my resume writing services to senior managerial, director and officer level job seekers. What I do takes time and expertise and the services are priced accordingly.
