This shop is located in Park Rapids, Minnesota, very close to my Minnesota stomping grounds!  I make it a point to stock up on wild rice when I am in northern Minnesota since that is where we bought it straight from the Native Americans right after harvest every year during my youth! A paddy wild rice, the slender, delicate kernels cook up fluffy and delicious in about 30 minutes. This is the wild rice used so sparingly in commercial wild rice blends. It also has gone on Will Steiger's last North Pole expedition; he "cooked" it by soaking the rice in melted snow as the team moved each day!
