hors d'ouerves

I would be so happy just eating hors d'ouerves for every meal.  This recipe was given to me by my best friend Stevie at least 25 years' ago.  She made it for a get-together we had one year for Easter and then she never made it again but .............I did get the recipe from her.  Now it is my job to bring this recipe every year for Thanksgiving at Stevie's house.  It is the first hors d' ouerves dug into and it is usually demolished.   Enjoy!

Stevie's Guacamole

15 min | 15 min prep

  • 3 avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
  • 2 green onions, sliced thinly
  • 1 (8 ounce) jar mild taco sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups grated monterey jack cheese
  • Dorito nacho chips
  1. Mash avocado with 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
  2. Spread into the bottom of a 9" pie plate.
  3. Spread sour cream evenly on top.
  4. Sprinkle with sliced green onions.
  5. Spoon 8 ounce taco sauce over the top and cover with cheese.
  6. Serve with Nacho Dorito Chips.
