New Jammies

I love getting new pajamas.  I wonder if that isn't my favorite new thing to have?  I am sure that must be holdover from being a kid when getting into your cozy pajamas and being tucked in for the night was just a perfect way to end the day and drift off to dreamland.

There was a time not too many years ago when I had one pair of pajamas.  It was, of course, one of my lean times.  As soon as that changed (and it always does!) I went hog wild buying new underwear and ................yahoo!.............................pajamas!  Once I had those stockpiled I felt like the richest woman in the world.  I simply needed nothing else to complete the picture of look at me... rich bitch.

There was a point in my life when I thought I would be the sexy nightgown and silk pj's person.  Remember when I talked earlier about growing up and separating our personal fact from fiction?  Well, sexy nightgowns and silk pj's were one of those reluctant realizations.  I'm all about flannel and cotton and not at all about silk and lace.  I once bought a pair of satin sheets.  What was I thinking?

So, it is summer here in the valley (literally the valley) and I need new cottons.  I have flannels but I need cottons.  I took a trip to JCrew.com and here is what I found:  Nothing!  What???? I used to find great PJ bottoms and tops there and now there is nothing?  And when did JCrew start aping Neiman Marcus prices?  I am so out of touch.

Okay on to Target.com to see what I can find there! (I am not on Target's payroll but they would be wise to consider it.)

How about these?

I like the white nightgown! No collar, no sleeves, short (well, short enough)...everything I like!

BTW, I think you'd look mighty cute in the green pj's Vina! Slumber party at Annette's!

My tastes lean more toward anchor, skull and crossbone and treasure map-themed jams.

So, you are the only person that bought the skull and crossbones dishes and napkins featured here from Gumps?  Maybe you were the designer?
