MY NAME IS NICK DOW

I'm a signwriter, wagon builder, and trained narrowboat painter as well. One glance will tell you that I'm not a traveler, but my wife is a Romany Gypsy, and proud of it. I have learnt most of my skills first hand from traveling people.

The traveling people have given me much more than I have ever given to them. The wagon you see above is a 'doors and windows' wagon laid out like an open lot inside. It is built in the traditional style, for use on the road.

Since the demise of the old time Wagon builders, the techniques and secrets of Gypsy Caravan construction have remained with the Traveling people themselves. These plans give you a privileged look into the art of Wagon building. Most of the techniques have never been written down before, and some have been handed down through the family for generations.

With these plans you will be taken from the basics of cutting simple wagon chamfers right through to the construction of the underworks and the building of the furniture and bedspot. You will also find out how to attach a canvas correctly and how to set a wood burning stove.

This information is unique and has never been published before.

Along with the plans is also a CD-Rom containing

1. Video Introduction
2. BBC TV interview
3. 20 tips on wagon building (audio)

all windows media files
