The Christmas of 2006 my friend Julie was lucky enough to end up with lots of swag! One of those freebies was a Janie's cake. She talked about how delicious it was to the point that I just had to have one! Although we already had too many Christmas desserts, we added a Janie's cake. It was indeed delicious. I am showing you the exact cake both Julie and I had. It is the only one I can vouch for.

Specialty Pound Cakes - "The Italian Jane"
Prego! Prego! More! More! This pound cake will cause an addiction!
This is our best selling Specialty Pound Cake. It’s our Plain Jane pound cake with a generous dollop (about a cup) of our homemade Italian cream sauce in the center hole of the cake topped off with bits of fresh roasted Texas pecans. Janie’s Italian cream is sweet and buttery with a hint of pecan (no coconut) for a nutty twist. The Italian Jane is perfect for those with a serious sweet tooth!
Serving suggestions: Garnish with fresh or roasted pecans. Serve at room temperature (Italian cream has the consistency of fresh butter).

It is articles, illustrations and a glowing endorsement such as this that makes me a tad envious. YUM is right... Time to get out and dust off the bundt pans.
